What is EcoCube™?
The EcoCube heat pump is designed for small to mid-sized spas to heat their water efficiently and cost-effectively. It uses a little electricity to pull warmth from the air into your spa water, which can cut heating costs by up to 75%. It’s a money-saver and eco-friendly choice for spa owners with smaller pools.

How far can I mount the EcoCube™ from my spa?
EcoCube™ is designed to be installed back to back with the spa. It can be installed further from the spa but this will require a custom installation and hard piping. This is typically completed by a licensed technician. The length of the cable running from the heat pump to the spa controller is no longer than 3m and it must run into the spa and plug into the controller.
Please note: The EcoCube™ must be mounted directly beside the spa when using the connection kit. If it is going to be installed further away, 40mm rigid plumbing will be required. For both types of installations, consideration of the barrier is necessary.

Do I need an electrician to install EcoCube™?
Depending on your circumstances, the unit comes fitted with an AMP plug, which is designed to be connected to the power output of the SpaNet™ controller. As a result, no electrician is required to connect the EcoCube to the Spa Pool. However, the SpaNet controller has a limited number of outputs for the EcoCube to plug into. If these outputs are already being used by other components, such as a stereo or light transformer, you can use the AMP double adapter that is included with the EcoCube connection kit. Should you use the double adapter and still not have enough outputs on the controller, you will need an electrician to change the AMP plug to a standard 10-amp plug and locate a suitable power outlet within reach of the EcoCube.

What fencing rules do I need to follow around my spa?
This will depend on the state you reside in. In NSW, as long as you have a locking cover, there is no requirement for fencing. For other states, you may be required to have a safety fence around your spa, and this fence may need to be moved or relocated to allow space for the heat pump. Check with your local council to confirm your fencing and compliance obligations, or you can consult our compliance team for assistance.
For a detailed explanation of state-specific fencing requirements for your spa, please refer to the article below.
