Most quality spa covers come with locks that attach to your spa and keep it secure. These locks are an essential safety element. 

Inground spa cover locks 

The lock portions are installed with screws flat on the surface that the spa is in. 

We suggest that you use screws suitable for the surface that you are drilling into.
