What is a grab hand rail?

A grab rail in spa pools is a bar or handle that is typically mounted on the side of the spa or pool. It is used as a support or grip for individuals to hold onto when entering, exiting, or moving around the spa. The grab rail provides stability and helps to prevent slips or falls in and around the spa pool.

What should I do if the grab hand rail is rusting?

If the grab handrail in your spa is rusting, you may take the following steps:
  1. Clean the rusted area. If the rusting is minor, you can try cleaning it using a Calcium Limescale and Rust Remover, also known as CLR. Gently scrub the rusted area, be careful not to damage the handrail's finish.
  2. Remove the grab rail. If the grab rail nut is also corroded, you may need to remove the grab rail from the shell, replace the bolt, and apply silicone to the bolt so water cannot get to it, then re-screw the grab rail back on.
  3. Replace the grab rail. If you notice the rail is corroded as well, it may need a replacement.
