How to mount an SCL-09 cover lifter on a Vortex Swim Spa

Change for mounting SCL-09 Cover Lifters for 2024 Vortex Swim Spa - Aqualap, Hydrozone, and Aquagym Max

In PUN 24-01 Vortex 2024 Models, published on January 30th, it was noted that the initial production of 2024 Swim Spa models lacked sufficient support in the cabinet structure for cabinet-mounted cover lifters like the SCL-09.

This issue was addressed at the factory for all orders placed after March 12th, as outlined in PUN 24-08 Cover Lifters on 2024 Swim Spas.

We can now offer a solution for 2024 Swim Spas manufactured before March 12th.

The affected models include 2024 Vortex Swim Spa - Aqualap, Hydrozone, and Aquagym Max with serial number ranges: -
● V2302001 – V2332002
● A230906001 – A24031100

Installation Process

Follow the steps below to install support plates for cabinet-mounted SCL-09 cover lifters on
2024 Vortex Swim Spas.
You will need the following plates fabricated as per dimensions below to suit the model.
These plates are not supplied by Spa World:

● 10g x 16mm Self drilling screws for plate installation (galvanised).
● 10g x 45mm Self drilling screws for cover lifter installation (stainless steel).

Step 1:

Position the plate as per the measurements in the picture below.

The top of the plate should be 300mm from the top of the spa shell.

The cover lifter bracket will be mounted 360mm from the top of the spa shell.

Step 2:

Fix the plate to the steel frame with low profile self drilling screws. Use at least 3 screws at each end of the plate.

Step 3:

Re-install cabinet panel and complete the cover lifter installation as per the normal SCL-09 installation instructions in the position detailed in Step 1, with the cover lifter bracket positioned with the top edge 360mm below the top of the shell. You will need to source longer screws than those provided with the lifter to provide adequate
thread through the steel plate. Min. 10g x 45mm.

Self-drilling are screws required, see example below:
