How to update the software in your ClearLift™ Controller

Steps to update the firmware in your ClearLift™ SN-CL Cover Controller


Background:

Use this quick seven step process to "push" an over-the-air (OTA) firmware update to the ClearLift™ cover control module to reflect product improvements and bug fixes.

Step 1.

Go to the App Store or Google Play and download the SpaNet SmartLink™ App.



Step 2.

Open the app to get to the Login Page.
Note:
There is no need to register or enter your email.
You must have Bluetooth active on your phone for the process to work and you MUST allow or accept any location or Bluetooth permission if asked.



Step 3.

Press and hold your finger on the firmware update icon for 15 seconds.



Step 4. 

Select CoverLifter (SN-CL) from the device list



Step 5.

Select the SN-CL device from the Bluetooth scan list and the firmware update process will begin.



Step 6.

Wait until firmware process completes
  1. NOTES: The firmware update process is completed over the air via Bluetooth so you must remain in close proximity to the spa for the duration of the firmware update process.
  2. It is best practise to ensure your phone does not go into screen time-out during the firmware update. To avoid that please tap on empty blue space from time to time to keep your screen awake.


Step 7.

Once the firmware update has finished, please wait for 2 minutes for the CoverLifter module to reboot then complete a power reset to the spa (i.e. turns mains power OFF for 10 seconds, then turn back ON).
